| Consumer Directed Services (CDS) Consumer Directed services (CDS) is a Medicaid program that provides personal care services to individuals that qualify for Medicaid; enabling them to live independently. Consumers in the CDS program are trained to hire their own workers to complete tasks such as: Bathing/Showering, toileting, obtaining/organizing medication, meal preparation/cleanup, housekeeping/laundry, and transportation. True Light Inc. provides training on hiring and supervising attendants for CDS participants in St. Louis City and County areas. The consumer may hire a friend or family member with the exception of a spouse to provide care. All attendants must be at least 18 years of age with a clean background check through the Missouri State Family Care Safety Registry before employment. |
